Let’s be real—something is missing from the way many of us live today. It’s as if we’re just floating through life, also repeating the same routines without ever stopping to ask if we’re on the right path. Parents especially seem caught in an endless loop: wake up, get the kids ready, rush off to work, come home exhausted, repeat. We’ve enslaved ourselves to this cycle, blind to the fact that something much deeper and more powerful is waiting to be discovered. Your mind has been hijacked.

I spent years searching for answers, bouncing from one church to another, hoping to find something real—something that could wake me up from this spiritual sleepwalking. But every time, I was met with the same empty experience. People showed up, sang their songs, said their prayers, and left, although returning to the same lifeless routines. Is this what life has become? Is this the sum total of our existence?

The problem isn’t God. The problem is us—our distractions, our constant need for noise, and our unwillingness to take control of the one thing we can control: our minds. We’ve handed over our minds to a system that thrives on keeping us numb and spiritually dead, but it doesn’t have to be this way.

Too many people treat God like a magic puppet—only calling on Him in moments of desperation. For example, when sickness strikes, we beg for healing. Similarly, when life falls apart, we pray for intervention. But here’s the truth that most people refuse to accept: God isn’t sitting somewhere in the sky, waiting for us to ask for help. In fact, your reward isn’t some experience you will have when you die. Instead, He’s right here—within us. Ultimately, the real power, the one that heals and changes lives, is already inside you.

I know this because I’ve lived it. When my son was just a year old, he came down with bacterial meningitis. The doctors didn’t think he’d make it. But in that terrifying moment, I knew without a doubt that the power to heal was already with us. I held my son close, prayed with unwavering faith, and felt the healing power flow through me and into him. The doctors were stunned by his recovery, but I wasn’t. That wasn’t some distant God answering a desperate prayer—it was the power of God within me, healing him.

This is the truth that Jesus taught. In John 14:12, He says, “Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these.” That power—the power to heal, to change, to overcome—lives inside each of us. But we’re too distracted, too controlled by the system to see it or use it.

The system is designed to keep you busy, keep you sick, and keep you blind to the truth. From the moment you wake up on Monday morning to the moment you collapse into bed at night, you are stuck in a system that thrives on your exhaustion. It keeps you dependent on it for your survival, all while stripping you of your time, your energy, and your freedom.

And it doesn’t stop with you—it’s coming for your kids too. The school system isn’t built to raise strong, free-thinking individuals. It’s designed to mold your children into compliant members of society, ready to repeat the same endless cycle you’re trapped in. They’re being trained to follow orders, to think within the lines, to be good little workers who don’t ask too many questions. It’s a perfected system, and most parents are just going along with it, but unaware of the damage it’s doing.

Here’s what most people won’t tell you: You have the power to break free from this system. God didn’t create you to be a slave to the grind, to live a life of numb repetition. He created you to rise above it, to take control of your mind, and furthermore to live in the power He placed within you.

Growing up in an abusive home, I learned early on how cruel and confusing life can be. I went to church, listened to sermons, and prayed, but something was always off. I never felt the presence of God in those places, and I never saw real change in the people around me. That emptiness pushed me to dig deeper, to find out for myself who God really is and consequently what His power truly means.

What I discovered is this: God isn’t a distant figure in the sky. He’s within you, waiting for you to wake up and take control. You don’t need to beg Him for help; you need to understand that the power to heal, to change, and to live fully has been inside you all along. It’s time to stop playing the system’s game and start living the life you were meant to live, through the power of your mind.

God has given you the power of your mind as one of the greatest gifts. It’s not just a tool for thinking—it’s the source from which your entire life springs. What you think, you become. Your thoughts are the seeds that grow into actions, habits, and ultimately, your reality. Just like a garden, the mind requires careful tending. If you neglect it, weeds of doubt, fear, and negativity will take over, choking out the life and potential God placed within you.

The Bible repeatedly tells us about the power of our thoughts. In Proverbs 23:7, it says, “As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.” This means that your internal world, the thoughts and beliefs you hold onto, directly shape your external world. And yet, most people are completely unaware of how powerful their minds truly are. They go through life reacting to everything around them, never realizing that they have the power to change their reality simply by changing the way they think.

Every thought you entertain is a seed. And just like a garden, what you plant is what you’ll harvest. If you plant seeds of doubt, fear, and negativity, you’ll harvest a life full of disappointment, worry, and failure. But if you choose to plant seeds of faith, love, and possibility, you’ll harvest a life full of peace, growth, and success.

This isn’t just about positive thinking. This is about recognizing the truth: your mind is powerful, and your thoughts have energy. They aren’t just fleeting ideas that come and go—they have the power to shape your reality. God gave you this power, and it’s up to you to decide how to use it.

The mind is the birthplace of all action. Everything you do, every decision you make, starts with a thought. Whether it’s conscious or subconscious, your thoughts set the wheels of your life in motion. If you’re constantly feeding your mind with negative thoughts, it’s no surprise that your actions will reflect that negativity.

Take a moment to reflect: what are you feeding your mind every day? Are you allowing the system to pump in fear, distraction, and doubt through your phone, TV, or social media? Are you letting other people’s opinions shape the way you think? Or are you intentionally filling your mind with thoughts that align with the life you want to live?

If you want to change your life, you must first change your mind. You have to pull the weeds of negativity and doubt, and plant new seeds—thoughts of faith, love, and possibility. Think on them, feel them, envision them. The more you focus on these empowering thoughts, the more they’ll take root in your mind and guide your actions.

Just like a garden, your mind requires daily care. You can’t just plant seeds of positivity once and expect them to grow without effort. You have to nurture them, water them, and protect them from the weeds of doubt and negativity that constantly try to take over.

Here’s how you can start tending to the garden of your mind:

  1. Be Intentional About What You Feed Your Mind: Stop consuming mindless entertainment and distractions. Stop the endless time you spend scrolling through social media, watching negative news, or filling your mind with content that doesn’t align with the life you want. Instead, fill your mind with uplifting and empowering thoughts—read scripture, listen to motivational speakers, or surround yourself with people who lift you up.
  2. Practice Gratitude: Gratitude is one of the most powerful ways to shift your thoughts. When you focus on what you’re grateful for, you naturally move away from negative thoughts. Start each day by writing down three things you’re grateful for, and watch how it transforms your mindset.
  3. Affirmations: Speak life into your day. The words you say to yourself are powerful. If you constantly tell yourself that you’re not enough, or that life is too hard, those words will manifest in your actions. Instead, start affirming who you truly are in God. Say things like, “I am capable,” “God’s power lives within me,” “I am more than a conqueror.” These affirmations will help plant seeds of faith and confidence in your mind.
  4. Meditate on God’s Word: The Bible is full of wisdom about the mind. Meditate on scriptures that speak about the power of thought and the renewing of your mind. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Let this verse guide you as you cultivate a mindset that isn’t swayed by the system but is rooted in the truth of God.
  5. Be Present: We too often lose ourselves by worrying about the future or dwelling on the past. But true power lies in being present, in fully engaging with the moment you’re in. When you’re present, you can observe your thoughts and choose the ones that align with your purpose.

Once you start tending to the garden of your mind, you’ll begin to see the harvest in your life. Your thoughts will naturally lead to actions that align with your highest potential. Faith and confidence will replace the fear and doubt that once held you back. You’ll find yourself making decisions from a place of power, not fear, and you’ll start to see your life transform in ways you never thought possible.

This is the power that God placed within you. Again, it’s not some distant, unattainable thing—it’s already here. Waiting for you to recognize it and start cultivating it. God has given you everything you need to live a life of abundance, healing, and purpose. But it all starts in your mind with your thoughts.

Stop waiting for a miracle to fall into your lap and waiting for someone else to tell you what to do. Stop praying to some Jesus that is in the sky. The power to change your life is already within you, decide today who you will serve. Has the old way really taken you anywhere? Are you truly ready to let go of the beliefs you’ve been indoctrinated with and embrace a new beginning of power and wealth?

Today, make the decision to take control of your thoughts. Be intentional about what you feed your mind. Plant seeds of faith, love, and possibility, and tend to them daily. This is how you harvest the power God has given you—by cultivating the garden of your mind.

Ask, Seek, Knock: Matthew 7:7-8 reminds us that when we seek, we will find. But first, we have to wake up and realize that God isn’t going to force His way into our lives. We have to knock, we have to seek, and we have to open the door.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Philippians 4:8
